Robin Hood for centuries has been a national character. But there has always been a belief that Robin came from Yorkshire with so many places seeming to have a connection i.e. Robin Hood, Wakefield ; Robin Hood's Well, Doncaster Road ; Barnsdale, Yorkshire ; Robin Hood's Bay ; Loxley, Sheffield and Wakefield his supposed birth place and the plaque on the bridge at Wentbridge puts a Robin Hood stamp firmly in Yorkshire. | |
